Rhythmic momentum flows through a 4/4 metric framework (simple quadruple meter). Calibrated to ♩ = 71 BPM (*Poco andante*), the piece moves with a singing with gentle, steady momentum pulse. As a practical study rule, listen for the overarching four-bar hypermeter to keep phrases singing rather than measure-bound.

Targeted at Beginner players (introductory piano syllabus (RCM Preparatory Level)), this score presents rewarding interpretive and tactile hurdles. Attention should center on finding middle C quickly and coordinating simple two-hand question-and-answer melodies. Accompaniment passages containing cinematic rolling bass sweeps and sustained chord foundations require subdued dynamics to spotlight the melody. Mechanically, execute full pedal clears at dynamic changes to highlight intimate moments. Practice Recommendation: use flashcards to identify ledger lines and primary chords away from the instrument.

Anchored in D Major, this work utilizes a key signature of two sharps (F♯, C♯). The composer builds structural coherence around D, deploying the relative pole (B Minor) to introduce tonal contrast before resolving through A Major. Harmonically, the progression D → G → Am → F → Dm → G7 pauses expressively on an open half-cadence, leaving harmonic expectation unresolved. Pianistically, the key produces an ergonomic setting that supports relaxed hand curvature across its two raised accidental steps.

1. Recital Staging: This selection integrates smoothly into informal recitals, private studio practice, and collaborative accompaniment.

2. Key Customization: Performers can shift the default tonality of D Major according to singer comfort: a downward transition to C Major reduces top-range vocal demands, while modulating to E Major enhances acoustic carrying power for solo recitals.

3. Licensing Status: Due to authorial timeline expiry, the piece is in the worldwide public domain for academic and commercial performance alike.
