In 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), rhythmic continuity is shaped by a steady common-time pulse providing natural rhythmic symmetry across four quarter-note subdivisions. The reference performance speed is ♩ = 107 BPM (*Allegro moderato*), yielding a lively with energetic forward stride tempo profile. From a phrasing standpoint, avoid pounding downbeats mechanically; keep the line buoyant through intermediate pulses.

Positioned within the Advanced repertoire (advanced concert artist standard (ABRSM Diploma / ARCT syllabus)), this work offers valuable training in balance and tone. Performers must concentrate on controlling multi-voiced polyphony, executing wide octave reaches without tension, and sustaining velocity. Navigating cinematic rolling bass sweeps and sustained chord foundations asks for deliberate finger weight distribution. To preserve clarity, execute full pedal clears at dynamic changes to highlight intimate moments. Rehearsal Step: rehearse octave leaps with feather-light thumb releases, ensuring the arm propels the leap from the elbow.

Cast in A Major (three sharps (F♯, C♯, G♯)), the composition organizes its melodic arcs around A. Dynamic tension arises from modulatory motion toward the relative mode of F-sharp Minor, balanced by harmonic stabilization from D Major. Harmonically, the progression A → G → Am → F → Dm → G7 rests on a half-cadential dominant harmony that builds musical anticipation. For the performer, this layout is characterized by a luminous harmonic atmosphere demanding balanced forearm weight distribution on wide melodic shifts.
