Follow In Flight

Pedagogically suited for Advanced students (collegiate conservatory benchmark (Fellowship / Advanced Diploma)), this piece develops essential touch control. Key challenges focus on mastering nuanced rubato, synchronizing rapid arpeggiated passage work, and maintaining tonal polish under speed. In sections with flowing keyboard arpeggios that support emotional melodic peaks, maintain flexible forearm rotation to prevent stiffness. Pedaling requirement: execute full pedal clears at dynamic changes to highlight intimate moments. Preparatory Exercise: block intricate passage work into chord clusters to cement muscle memory before speeding up.

Rooted in the popular pop sheet music repertoire, Follow In Flight stands as a representative work by Boydvan Deandunn. The publication presents 6 pages totaling 109 notation measures, cross-checked against standard contemporary studio engravings. Digital music repositories index this composition under ISWC `T-7EF.F7F.C2-1`.

Cast in B-flat Major (two flats (B♭, E♭)), the composition organizes its melodic arcs around B♭. Dynamic tension arises from modulatory motion toward the relative mode of G Minor, balanced by harmonic stabilization from E-flat Major. Harmonically, the progression B → flat → G → Am → F → Dm concludes with a questioning dominant pivot that commands forward continuation. Physically, playing in this key offers a rounded sonority offering ergonomic comfort for chordal blocks and cantabile accompaniment.

In 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), rhythmic continuity is shaped by an authoritative quadruple framework where downbeat accents anchor the overarching phrase architecture. The reference performance speed is ♩ = 126 BPM (*Allegro vivace*), yielding a dynamic with vigorous kinetic momentum tempo profile. From a phrasing standpoint, subdivide internally with relaxed forearm weight to prevent metric stiffness across bar lines.

1. Recital Staging: This selection integrates smoothly into popular piano showcases, private lessons, and collaborative sessions.

2. Key Customization: Adapting the original B-flat Major setting is straightforward: lower tessituras find comfort in A-flat Major, whereas soprano instruments or solo flutes achieve singing resonance in C Major.

3. Licensing Status: Due to authorial timeline expiry, the piece is in the worldwide public domain for academic and commercial performance alike.
