Positioned within the Advanced repertoire (senior concert repertoire level (RCM Grade 10 to Licentiate)), this work offers valuable training in balance and tone. Performers must concentrate on balancing complex polyphonic textures, negotiating rapid register shifts, and sustaining virtuosic momentum. Navigating contemporary broken triad ostinatos and resonant pedal points asks for deliberate finger weight distribution. To preserve clarity, coordinate pedaling with chord changes to maintain acoustic warmth. Practice Recommendation: practice rapid runs in diverse rhythmic groupings (dotted-eighth and sixteenth pairs) to eliminate finger lag.

Anchored in C Major, this work utilizes a key signature of zero sharps and zero flats. The composer builds structural coherence around C, deploying the relative pole (A Minor) to introduce tonal contrast before resolving through G Major. Harmonically, the progression C → G → Am → F → Dm → G7 pauses expressively on an open half-cadence, leaving harmonic expectation unresolved. In terms of hand topography, C Major yields an unadorned keyboard topography requiring precise thumb tucks without black-key tactile markers.

Rhythmic momentum flows through a 3/4 metric framework (simple triple meter). Calibrated to ♩ = 68 BPM (*Poco andante*), the piece moves with a singing with gentle, steady momentum pulse. As a practical study rule, feel the larger one-in-a-bar gesture to keep phrases airborne rather than stomping on each quarter note.
