Organized under a 4/4 time signature, the music exhibits a simple quadruple meter with 4 beats per measure. At ♩ = 69 BPM (Andante con moto), the pacing unfolds in a manner described as moving at a tranquil, forward-leaning pulse. A core performance guideline: channel energy through the middle beats toward subsequent downbeats to preserve continuous phrasing arcs.

Designed for Advanced level pianists (collegiate conservatory benchmark (Fellowship / Advanced Diploma)), this piece demands clean articulation and hand balance. The chief hurdle entails refining subtle dynamic voicing across dense chords, executing octave cascades, and preventing hand cramping. Balancing transparent two-part polyphony and classical Alberti motion requires distinct volume separation between parts. Furthermore, lift the damper pedal cleanly on phrase boundaries to preserve classical transparency. Rehearsal Step: practice rapid runs in diverse rhythmic groupings (dotted-eighth and sixteenth pairs) to eliminate finger lag.

Set within the harmonic domain of B-flat Major (two flats (B♭, E♭)), the score secures tonal focus on B♭. Expressive depth is enhanced through secondary pivots into G Minor and dominant reinforcement via F Major. Harmonically, the progression B → flat → G → Am → F → Dm suspends tension over an active dominant chord awaiting tonal release. In terms of hand topography, B-flat Major yields a balanced key setting where B♭ and E♭ naturally frame the right-hand thumb on middle C and F.
