Assigned an overall Intermediate rating (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)), the composition exercises manual independence. The central obstacle centers on achieving fluid finger legato without relying on the damper pedal to mask uneven key releases. In performing transparent two-part polyphony and classical Alberti motion, keep finger knuckles rounded and poised. For acoustic hygiene, employ syncopated pedal changes immediately following each chordal shift to avoid acoustic blurs. Technical Drill: drill awkward chord shifts at 60% tempo, ensuring fingers assume target hand shapes before descending.

Tonal grounding is defined by C Minor, marked in the score by three flats (B♭, E♭, A♭, with B♮ raised leading tone). The music alternates stability on C with expressive harmonic excursions toward E-flat Major and its parallel relation, C Major. Harmonically, the progression Cm → Dm → G → C → F → E7 moves through balanced harmonic transitions (F, E7) reinforcing the tonal root. In terms of hand topography, C Minor yields an intense heroic key signature that commands deep shoulder weight on dramatic downbeat chords.
