Rondo Alla Turca from Piano Sonata No. 11 in A Major, K. 331 III. Allegretto Piano Sheet Music (Free PDF)

Cast in D Major (two sharps (F♯, C♯)), the composition organizes its melodic arcs around D. Dynamic tension arises from modulatory motion toward the relative mode of B Minor, balanced by harmonic stabilization from G Major. Harmonically, the progression D → G → Am → F → Dm → G7 pauses expressively on an open half-cadence, leaving harmonic expectation unresolved. Under the fingers, D Major features an ergonomic setting that supports relaxed hand curvature across its two raised accidental steps.

This Intermediate publication (intermediate benchmark (ABRSM/RCM Grade 4–6)) serves as an instructive study in keyboard voicing. Pianists must address coordinating independent dynamic levels between hands while maintaining steady metric propulsion. Passages dominated by Alberti bass patterns and contrapuntal voice exchanges benefit from conscious dynamic shading. Regarding pedal usage, employ syncopated pedal changes immediately following each chordal shift to avoid acoustic blurs. Technical Drill: practice left-hand harmonic leaps with closed eyes to develop spatial keyboard instinct.
