Targeted at Advanced players (senior concert repertoire level (RCM Grade 10 to Licentiate)), this score presents rewarding interpretive and tactile hurdles. Attention should center on balancing complex polyphonic textures, negotiating rapid register shifts, and sustaining virtuosic momentum. Accompaniment passages containing contemporary broken triad ostinatos and resonant pedal points require subdued dynamics to spotlight the melody. Mechanically, refresh damper pedal depth synchronously with bass root changes. Preparatory Exercise: block intricate passage work into chord clusters to cement muscle memory before speeding up.

Cast in A Minor (zero sharps and zero flats (with G♯ serving as raised harmonic seventh)), the composition organizes its melodic arcs around A. Dynamic tension arises from modulatory motion toward the relative mode of C Major, balanced by harmonic stabilization from D Minor. Harmonically, the progression Am → Dm → G → C → F → E7 cycles smoothly through harmonic steps (F, E7) back toward the tonic. At the keyboard, A Minor provides a transparent acoustic space requiring disciplined finger independence on descending minor scales.

Operating within 4/4, this simple quadruple meter generates a steady common-time pulse providing natural rhythmic symmetry across four quarter-note subdivisions. The benchmark tempo of ♩ = 81 BPM (Andante con moto) conveys a moving at a tranquil, forward-leaning pulse sensibility. During execution, avoid pounding downbeats mechanically; keep the line buoyant through intermediate pulses.
