Spear of Justice Piano Sheet Music (Free PDF)

Pedagogically suited for Intermediate students (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)), this piece develops essential touch control. Key challenges focus on projecting the cantabile soprano melody while suppressing inner accompaniment voices. In sections with flowing keyboard arpeggios that support emotional melodic peaks, maintain flexible forearm rotation to prevent stiffness. Pedaling requirement: execute full pedal clears at dynamic changes to highlight intimate moments. Preparatory Exercise: play the melody forte while ghost-tapping the accompaniment keys silently beneath the surface.

Metric propulsion relies on 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), giving the piece a steady common-time pulse providing natural rhythmic symmetry across four quarter-note subdivisions. Set to a metronome speed of ♩ = 66 BPM (*Lento cantabile*), the overall character feels lyrical with sustained vocal warmth. Pianists should ensure that they channel energy through the middle beats toward subsequent downbeats to preserve continuous phrasing arcs.

With B-flat Major as the primary tonal anchor, the notation designates two flats (B♭, E♭). Phrase arches gravitate toward B♭, counterpointed by coloristic pivots into G Minor and subdominant foundations in E-flat Major. Harmonically, the progression B → flat → G → Am → F → Dm concludes with a questioning dominant pivot that commands forward continuation. For the performer, this layout is characterized by a noble tonal landscape that supports relaxed arm weight across its two flat accidentals.

Pianists frequently schedule this piece for contemporary vocal accompaniment, student recitals, and studio recordings. For performers transposing away from B-flat Major, optimal vocal targets include A-flat Major for medium-low voices and C Major for upper registers. B♭ transposing instruments sound in concert pitch when reading the score in C Major. The composition is certified in the worldwide public domain, available for unfettered study, transcription, and live recital.
