Targeted at Intermediate players (transitional keyboard syllabus (ABRSM Grade 4 to Trinity Grade 5)), this score presents rewarding interpretive and tactile hurdles. Attention should center on managing two-part hand coordination and synchronizing pedal changes with harmonic shifts. Accompaniment passages containing contemporary broken triad ostinatos and resonant pedal points require subdued dynamics to spotlight the melody. Mechanically, feather the pedal to sustain bass notes without drowning upper textures. Rehearsal Step: record your practice with emphasis on listening for crisp pedal releases on each harmonic pivot.

Rhythmic momentum flows through a 4/4 metric framework (simple quadruple meter). Calibrated to ♩ = 91 BPM (*Tempo comodo*), the piece moves with a composed with disciplined, graceful rhythm pulse. As a practical study rule, channel energy through the middle beats toward subsequent downbeats to preserve continuous phrasing arcs.

Anchored in E-flat Major, this work utilizes a key signature of three flats (B♭, E♭, A♭). The composer builds structural coherence around E♭, deploying the relative pole (C Minor) to introduce tonal contrast before resolving through B-flat Major. Harmonically, the progression E → flat → G → Am → F → Dm rests on a half-cadential dominant harmony that builds musical anticipation. Under the fingers, E-flat Major features a deeply expressive layout that encourages an open, tension-free hand arch on rolling chord figures.
