God’s message today – Psalm 55:22
▶️ Don't miss this Song of the Day ◀️
Merciful God,
As the shadows lengthen and the active demands of the day draw to a close, I come into Your presence to look back and reflect. Thank You for Your protection over my going out and my coming in. Thank You for the hidden dangers You shielded me from and for the small moments of joy that brightened my path today.
Father, as I examine my heart, I bring before You my shortcomings from today. I ask for Your forgiveness for the moments I lacked patience, the words that were unkind, or the opportunities to show love that I missed. I also lay down the heavy burdens of today’s unfinished tasks and worries about tomorrow. I refuse to carry into the night what You have asked me to leave at Your feet.
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” — Psalm 55:22 (ESV)
God is reminding us tonight that we were never created to carry the weight of tomorrow. Sleep is an act of trust—a beautiful reminder that the world can function without us because He is the One holding it together. Release your worries and rest in His care.
As I prepare to sleep, cover my home and my loved ones with Your peace. Guard our minds against anxious thoughts and restore our bodies with deep, refreshing rest. I close my eyes in the sweet assurance that You never sleep nor slumber.
In Your comforting name, I pray.
Amen.
