Prayer for Those Who Have Almost Nothing
▶️ Don't miss this Song of the Day ◀️
“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap.” — Psalm 113:7 (NIV)
There are people waking up today with no certainty that they will eat before the sun goes down.
Some children have learned not to ask for more because they already know the answer.
Some parents smile through the pain, pretending they have already eaten so their children won’t feel guilty taking the last bowl of rice.
Some elderly men and women quietly endure another day of loneliness, hunger, and cold, hoping tomorrow might be kinder than today.
Lord, it is easy for us to become distracted by our own worries. We complain when life feels inconvenient, while countless people are simply praying for clean water, a safe place to sleep, or enough food to survive another day.
Yet none of them are invisible to You.
You know every empty table.
You hear every silent cry uttered behind closed doors.
You see every tear that falls when no one else is watching.
Not one hungry child is forgotten.
Not one struggling family is beyond Your sight.
Not one life is considered insignificant in Your eyes.
Prayer
Compassionate Father,
Today I bring before You every person living in poverty, every family carrying burdens too heavy to bear, and every child who has never known what it feels like to have enough.
Please provide daily bread for those who have none.
Bring comfort to parents whose hearts are breaking because they cannot provide for the people they love.
Protect children from exploitation, fear, violence, and despair.
Strengthen those who continue working tirelessly despite receiving so little in return.
Bless the hands of farmers, relief workers, missionaries, volunteers, churches, and every compassionate person who faithfully serves those in need.
Father, where there is hunger, send provision.
Where there is hopelessness, breathe new hope.
Where there is loneliness, send people who genuinely care.
And where there is injustice that keeps people trapped in poverty, raise up leaders with wisdom, integrity, and compassion to bring lasting change.
Lord, change my heart as well.
Never allow me to become so comfortable that I forget those who struggle simply to survive.
Teach me to be grateful without becoming indifferent.
Help me to share without hesitation, to give without seeking recognition, and to love without asking whether someone deserves it.
May my life become a reflection of the generous heart of Christ.
Until the day when no child cries from hunger and every tear is wiped away in Your Kingdom, help us to be faithful stewards of the blessings You have entrusted to us.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Some prayers ask God to change the world. Others ask Him to change our hearts. Sometimes He chooses to do both at the same time.
